For over a week downtown Phoenix will be filled with parties, theater, sports, exhibitions, and hot new restaurants. Explore your core. You might want to do it again.

OPENING NIGHT: FRIDAY SEPT. 26th Starting at 6PM: Phoenix Art Museum is host of a Friday night cocktail reception celebrating our downtown and its thriving arts scene. Guests will be invited to experience and learn more in a spirited environment that will serve as a kick-off to the arts season. The evening will be highlighted by a number of live performances, multi-media exhibits and a progressive tasting menu prepared by Chefs from iconic downtown restaurants. There’s never been a party quite like this.

Downtown is the heart of the Valley’s creative community, the hotbed of Phoenix culture, art, history,music, theater and sports. Each of singular value, presented as a whole conveys an intricately layered urban lifestyle. Urban Affair, the Valley’s premier urban living event, delivers a celebration of this activity and energy by bringing together an exhibition of people, businesses, organizations, and institutions that make downtown special.

The opening night celebration takes place at the Phoenix Art Museum. That includes a special invitation to ‘Explore Your Core’ during the following weeklong Affair, which includes events, activities and other downtown promotions.

Event Description:

A Friday night cocktail reception will be highlighted by a number of live performances, interactive exhibits, multi-media visuals and static displays. Guests will be invited to experience and learn more in a spirited environment that will serve as a kick-off to the arts season.

The Arts – arts organizations, artists, filmmakers, chefs and more convey the energy and vitality of urban life. Design Community – architecture and amenities that help define our physical surroundings. Food and Wine – iconic downtown restaurants and chefs serving a progressive tasting menu throughout the evening. Proceeds will benefit the Downtown Phoenix Public Market, downtown’s community gathering place funded by the non-profit Community Food Connections.

Get your design on at Phoenix Runway

Downtown Phoenix is about to get its due.

Phoenix Runway will bring nationally-acclaimed designers, local celebrities and fashion aficionados together at the Herberger Theatre this October 3-4 with a fashion show to help raise money for Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock foundation.

Headed up by the Art Institute of Phoenix, Phoenix Runway will be the endcap of a week of fashion merchandising, design and photography workshops held to give those interested a little more insight into a fairly exclusive industry. Work with local designers, artists and photographers to see just what goes into producing, staging and record a fashion show. Read more »
