A Day in the Life of Italy: Pure sensuality, fearless personality, pop culture articulated into an expressive force of vintage glamour mixed with the avant-garde. Toni&Guy transformed these inspirations into Italian Summer, a fashion and hair show indicative of European fame and flair.

The mesh of summer chic designs produced an eclectic finish to the end of the season and as a transition into fall. Pac Sun, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Rachel B. Handbags, Elise Alonzo, and Sway Boutique all contributed to the flirtatious celebration.

Super sexy, voluminous waves contrasted with classic bobs and fringes. Day looks of sophistication refined into night seductive charm. Ashlee Mae, Hair Show Director from Toni&Guy, created these looks from the Mediterranean influence of free spirit, vitality, and natural beauty. The abundance of texture and natural tones of rich color encompass the complete look, rather than the hair and make-up being separate from the clothing. “The whole image is created from the shoes, hair, and everything in between, making a whole masterpiece, like a portrait,” adds Mae. Mae also notes that trends for fall include easy to maintain hairstyles. Color will be shiny, natural, dark tones with enhancements of gold and red.

Make-up artists worked with a variety of day, night, and avant-garde looks. Make-up Artist Vanessa Ramirez from Toni&Guy focused on eyebrows being an important element to tie in with romantic, European beauty. One look consisted of a thick, rich brow with dramatic lashes and lips, in opposition with a thinner, straight eyebrow amidst dark eye shadow and subtle lips. Freelance make-up artist Megan Hahn created sculpted cheek bones with voluminous eyelashes. Hahn believes that fake lashes are a great tool to make eyes stand out, “Fake lashes are always in and make any look more appealing.” Ramirez forecasts fall to be full of hot, lush, red lips – lips that pop with every shade of red, from orange to purple undertones.

Fashion designer Elise Alonzo had a variety of collections consisting of café wear, evening wear, and couture. Alonzo used a mix of textiles to designate the nature of texture into Italian style. Chiffon, silk, snake skin pleather, faux fur, and hemp netting were all added to enrich the romantic edge of Mediterranean charm. “As for silhouettes, I tried to crash classic and modern to create a new twist,” notes Alonzo.

Tuscan influence brings forth a season of elegance and sophistication pushed to the threshold of modern depth, revealing a world where cultures and styles come together to induce the fashion forward.
