Sex, money, and drugs: the designer series that represents the rebellious glamour of Blow Collection. These creative designs exhibit raw emotion that is powerful, yet oppressed, and accelerate our lives.
Darryl Threatt, owner/designer of Blow Collection, has put a new spin on fashion calling his work, “Urban Couture”. This upscale streetwear was inspired from the average worker and simply, life. Mismatched, bright bikinis and tulle tu-tus with suspenders and graphic tees was an adoration of the free expression of the 80’s combined with cosmopolitan funk. Glamed out with a single fingerless glove, bold bangles, colorful purses, and fishnet tights, a retro Madonna video came alive. Men’s fashion meshed the trendy-preppy and the extraordinary with vests over graphic tees, plaid cargo shorts, deep v cardigans, and velcro tennis shoes.
Threatt says that skinnys and prints will be out for the fall, replaced with dark, fitted denim and simple solids. Lime green will be a primary color, and why not throw in a pop of color with black and white to add some pizzazz to your wardrobe.
Toni&Guy Hairdressing contributed to the city look with freestyle avant-garde hair furnished by urban curls, frizzed out texture, and lots of volume on the side to create width in the shape.
Make-up artist Vanessa Ramirez from Toni&Guy at Fiesta Mall created a hip-hop look that was sexy but not too dramatic to keep the focus on the clothing. Skin was summer-glowy and accompanied by either striking eyes and nude lips or soft eyes and hot pink lips. For the fall season, Ramirez anticipates red, pink, and orange bold lips with lush lashes and subdued liner.
Blow Collection has taken the true essence of urban and integrated its sensuality with runway charisma. Their motto is simple, “Whateva you do, look good doing it.”
