Downtown people doing downtown things…

One of the things I want most in downtown Phoenix is a hang out, a place where you can go nearly any time of the day or night and know people will be there. While that hasn’t quite happened, progress is being made.

Events like #PFC (Phoenix Friday Coffee) are an excellent example of such. Every Friday a group of people (creative types, office workers, students; all are welcome) have what’s called a Tweetup (cute way of saying meet up) with others who correspond via Twitter. We pick a different shop each Friday after work, with Lux, Paisley Violin, Copper Star and Fair Trade so far, and sit down for a few hours with like minded peers to talk about work, friends, family, projects, etc.

Anyone is welcome, the group certainly doesn’t discriminate. It’s truly social media at its best.
