Scottsdale Fashion Week embraced diversity of style and energy – from wearable art to couture, every aspect of upscale fashion was exemplified into the purest form of innovative art. Local and national highlights of the celebration, VMarie Fashion and renowned luxury department store chain Barneys New York, defined the latest trends of structure, analogous and monochromatic color, and texture.

Owner and designer of Vmarie Fashion, Rickie Gonzales, launched his passion for design in 2006 as a tribute to twin sister Valerie Marie, who passed away in 2004. Valerie Marie’s strong captivation and love of butterflies was dignified into collections which honor the true essence of metamorphosis – shape, rejuvenation, and the mystery of exotic beauty. This embodiment incorporates inner artistry into a vision acknowledging women of all shape and size.

Gonzales’ collection for Scottsdale Fashion Week emphasized classic beauty with a stylish play on color, shape, and texture. Tailored sheath dresses reminiscent of the 60’s were modernized into bold contrasts of red and purple, the two hottest colors of the season. Cut-out geometric shapes amidst zippers and folds of refined fabric brought an edge to Gonzales’ youthful elegance and sophistication.

In celebration of their grand-opening at Scottsdale Fashion Square, Barneys New York initiated a dominating final show indicative of their prestige and couture. Following a season of contrasting color palettes, lime green was accessorized into a monochromatic scheme of analogous shades. Impeccable tailoring combined with effortless layering created a contemporary silhouette enveloped by structure.

Scottsdale Fashion Week reminds the fashion conscience of the persistent circle of fashion and its innate capacity to transform and revitalize the archetype into chic, fearless style.
